OTHER LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
I have included three letters of recommendation beyond the required letter from my supervisor to document that I am actually accomplishing the goals laid out in my teaching philosophy and in my course rationale.
Letter: Dr. Catherine Carsley, Assistant Professor of English and Coordinator of the Liberal Arts Program
Dr. Carsley's office is across the hall from mine, and she has witnessed first-hand my student conferences (largely because my students end up filling the hall and longue around near our office doors). I asked her for a letter to describe what she overheard and saw, but her letter went much further than I expected, documenting my work on the departmental and college-wide level. |

Letter: Katie Fitzgerald, Student, English 211 (Spring 2011)
Katie Fitzgerald, a graduate student seeking to complete her requirements for a master's degree and teaching certificate, took my English 211 course in the spring of 2011. In response to Dr. Grieco's observation of one of our class meetings, she wrote him an unsolicited letter. Please note her favorable comparison to courses at other colleges and her appreciation of the quality of class discussion. |

Letter: Chris Fox, Student, English 102 (Spring 2010) and English 245 (Fall 2010)
Chris Fox took my courses multiple times, and with each course he improved significantly. He wrote me this letter as a "thank you" for helping him with both a letter of recommendation and comments on his application essays for Ursinus College. While most faculty members have thank you notes from their students, this one stands out because Chris articulates the intellectual change he believes I helped inspire in him through my teaching style and my willingness to listen to students both in and out of class. |
